COVID-19: case 8

67-year-old
patient with fever and cough for 1 week not responding to antibiotics.   

The patient was intubated in the shock room immediately after a chest film for worsening of her respiratory failure.

Chest radiography: unremarkable

6 days after, the patient presented to the ED.

ABG: pO2 61.3%; C-RP 12.17 mg/dl,

Chest radiography:

multiple and diffuse consolidations with interstitial markings.

CT

ground-glass opacities and band atelectasis.

RT-PCR confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection

43-year-old male patient
with fever, cough. No previous medical history. Exposure to Covid-19 patients.

Respiratory failure (hypoxemia and hypercapnia). Leukopenia. Nasal swab positive for SARS-CoV-2.

Subpleural ground-glass opacity with consolidations in the LLL; scattered ground-glass opacities in the upper lobes and more extended in the lower lobes.

COVID-19: case 6

32-year-old female
patient in treatment with steroids for autoimmune disease. No exposure to
Covid-19 patients (first Covid + patient in Cremona).

Fever and cough, leukocytosis. Respiratory failure (hypoxemia and hypocapnia).

Diffuse bilateral consolidations partially sparing the upper lobes and the apical segments of the lower lobes.

63-year-old male patient with no previous medical history. Exposure to Covid-19 patients. Fever, cough.

Respiratory failure (hypoxemia and hypocapnia). Leukocitosis. Nasal swab positive for SARS-CoV-2.

patient with fever, cough. No previous medical history. Potential exposure to
Covid-19 patients.

Respiratory failure (hypoxemia and hypocapnia). Leukopenia. Nasal swab positive for SARS-CoV-2.

Multiple diffuse ground-glass opacities in all lobes, with random distribution, predominant subpleural and peribronchial in the upper lobes

Small, blurred bilateral opacities.




COVID-19: case 3

57-year-old male patient with fever, cough. No previous medical history. Potential exposure to Covid-19 patients.

Respiratory
failure (hypoxemia and hypocapnia). Leukocitosi. Nasal swab positive for
SARS-CoV-2.

HRCT

Subpleural ground-glass opacity with predominant subpleural distribution and consolidations in all lobes, particularly in the lower lobes.

62-year-old male patient with fever, cough and asthenia for three days. No previous medical history. pO2 97%, C.RP 0.75.

Chest radiography:

negative.

Due to the discrepancy between CXR and the clinical examination a CT is performed.

Scattered blurred ground-glass opacities suspected for early stage on interstitial pneumonia.

Nasal swab positive for SARS-CoV-2.

HRCT

Multiple ground-glass opacities associated with reticulations in a “crazy-paving pattern” (clack circle) – particularly in the lower lobes.  Subpleural consolidation (black arrow).

In the coronal view, the peripheral distribution of the GGOs is seen (arrows)
